How Do The Therapy Sessions Work?
As individual therapy is about someone opening up about their personal thoughts and struggles, it is important that clients feel comfortable, safe and able to speak freely.
Initial Assessment
Therefore, I always recommend that someone makes an initial appointment to see me for an introductory session, to see if I am the right person for them. It also offers the opportunity to ask any questions about me and the process of counselling.
There is absolutely no obligation to continue after the initial session.
Length of Sessions
The counselling sessions are 50 minutes in length.
Number of Sessions
Every person coming to therapy is a unique individual and may need a varying number of sessions. We would discuss this at the beginning of therapy and review this between ourselves at regular intervals.
Confidentiality
The sessions are your opportunity to speak freely about your life. What we talk about is confidential and I am bound by the ethical code of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Just CLICK HERE to visit UKCP.
Fees
Kingston-Upon-Thames - Individual Therapy is between £80-£120 per session, depending on individual circumstances.
Kingston-Upon-Thames - The Addiction Treatment Programme is £130 per session.
Professional Reports for outside agencies - £150.
I ask clients to pay on the day of the session, either by bank transfer or cash.
As the real strength of therapy is gained through continuity, I ask clients to commit to weekly sessions to get the maximum benefit out of them.
Cancellation Policy
I do need 24 hours notice if you need to cancel a session as I have allocated this time to you. I will have to charge the full fee if I do not have adequate notice.
Insurance Companies
f you are registered with a Healthcare Insurer, you may be able to get your sessions paid by them. You will need to contact your GP so they can make a referral to your chosen provider. I will require your pre-authorisation number at the first session with you.
